Decent Work through Local Economic Development, GhanaThis employment-focused project in Ghana will replicate a model for public-private dialogue and economic planning at districts level. The project will also contribute to knowledge development and capacity building to make policies addressing informality and poverty more effective. The project office is based in Accra.
The six thematic Working GroupsOn the first day the Inter-agency Conference on LED, 22 to 24 October 2008, Turin, discussion around LED kicked off with six theme-specific working groups, involving each participant in a group of choice. The selection of topics was aimed at exploring goverance aspects of LED processes, their economic outcomes and their application to a varied field of socio-economic development practices, ranging from Indigenous People's rights to Value Chains upgrading to Public-Private Dialogue, etc.

Social Analysis Systems – Concepts and Tools for Collaborative Research and Social ActionThis is a step-by-step guide to assist you create profiles of the parties involved in a core problem or action, illustrated with numerous graphs and tables for practical support to each exercise. Social Analysis CLIP bases the profile on four factors: 1) power, 2) interests, 3) legitimacy, and 4) existing relations of collaboration and conflict. The technique allows you to describe the characteristics and relationships of key stakeholders in a concrete situation (such as a conflict of interests among upper-class stakeholders) and to explore ways to resolve social problems (such as building trust or empowering marginalized groups). This guide was presented and discussed on the occasion of the course on Strategies for LED, run by the International Training Center (ITC) of the ILO in Turin in May 2008.

LED Story Nicaragua: The Competitivity Agenda, Planning DynamicallyTaking into consideration that economic and political spheres are not static
